I’m Luc Hengsdijk — coach, hybrid athlete, and firefighter.

Forged through pressure

I’ve lived the hybrid life long before it had a name. From kitesurfing and snowsports to strength training and endurance, I love them all!
My career started in the gym as a fitness coach and evolved into personal training, but I always wanted something more. That drive led me to become a professional firefighter in Amsterdam, a job that teaches you how to perform under pressure, face loss, save lives, and build real resilience.

What I do

I coach hybrid athletes and everyday people to get stronger, fitter and more resilient. My approach blends strength and endurance training with breathwork and cold exposure practical tools that improve recovery, boost the immune system and build mental and physical toughness.

Autoimmune Struggles & Recovery

Most of my life I’ve also battled autoimmune diseases like Crohn’s, but by consistently applying breathwork, cold exposure, disciplined training and nutrition, I learned to manage my symptoms, regain control over MY body and become the person I am today.

That experience shapes how I live, race and coach - practical tools that helped me and can support others.

Everything I coach is built around one principle: training should prepare you for real life, not just the gym.

Real world resilience means being able to perform under pressure, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and recover as quick as possible both physically and mentally. It’s not about perfection, but consistency, control, and the ability to keep going when life gets hard.

My methods are practical. Every tool I use, from strength and endurance training to breathwork, cold exposure, and mobility, has been tested in my own life and coaching.

Nothing is included because it’s trendy everything is included because i know works.

Most importantly, I see body and mind as one system. Physical training builds mental strength, and mental control improves physical performance. The goal is not just to get fitter, it’s to become more capable in every aspect of life.

MILESTONES

  • 1 Coaching Start

    I began my journey as a personal trainer, getting all the certifications and after working with clients in strength, fitness, and lifestyle coaching.

  • 2 Firefighter Career

    Entered the fire service in Amsterdam, learning to perform under pressure, make fast decisions, and stay calm in high-stress environments.

  • 3 Health & Recovery Phase

    Faced autoimmune challenges that led me to explore breathwork, cold exposure, and structured recovery as tools for long-term performance and health.

  • 4 Endurance & Hybrid Sport

    Got to know my mountain girlfriend and deepened my training in triathlon, endurance sports, strength training, kitesurfing, and snow sports, building a fully hybrid athletic foundation.

  • 5 Coaching Development

    Evolved my coaching approach into a full system combining strength, endurance, breathwork, cold exposure, and mobility, focused on real-world resilience.

  • 6 RESILICE Method

    Developed my own coaching philosophy: a structured, experience-based system for building strength, endurance, and resilience in everyday life and sport.
